Pardon the ‘woe is me, I’m getting old’ post.
I turn 29 next week. I have NO CLUE how to celebrate. I really want to just put on my pj’s, drink a 1.5 liter bottle of wine and over-eat a serving bowl full of pasta. It doesn’t help that my bee-day falls in the midst of my SAD (google it)… but let’s add the fact that I’ll be celebrating my last born day in my 20’s and I’m ALL ABOUT “let’s celebrate y’all!” (psych)
I know, I should go out… but where? I’m not trying to go out and get wasted, let’s be real people. Time to grow up. I just can’t figure out an appropriate place to go out and celebrate with the handful of friends that will want to partake. Somewhere mellow, but fun. Laid-back, but will be a memorable evening for all involved. How do you mesh the two? There’s gotta be somewhere I can arrange a small get-together! It’s Chicago for cryin’ out loud.
Ok Chicago peeps - here’s where you come in. Suggestions for a location to host an ”I’m getting old so I should act my age but I still want to have some sort of low-key fun” birthday party??
Ok my Chicago tumblr loves… I need your help.
It’s my lovely friend Sam’s birthday this weekend and we’re going ALL out. We will be spending Friday night in the city to celebrate.
Here’s where your help comes in. What are your FAVORITE places to go out on a Friday night in the city? I’m talking Chicago proper, downtown. And let’s scratch Rush street off the list. We want to go somewhere cool, fun - but not too crazy, music and dancing is a plus.
So… where are your best Friday night spots??
Having a few close friends over tonight for a little grown-up dinner party to celebrate my birthday.
Here’s the menu:
APPETIZERS
-bacon wrapped dates
-guacamole hummus
-pepperoni pizza dip with breadsticks
ENTREES
-my secret recipe beef chili
-buffalo chicken mac-n-cheese
DESSERT
-fudge brownie and peanut butter ice cream sandwiches
I’m considering making a couple/few pitchers of sangria too.
Lots to get finished up, but I’m excited for tonight!! :)
Happy birthday to my lovely friend Jessica!!!
We have known each other since we were kids, growing up in the same neighborhood and now we’re all grown up still friends as adults. Not everyone is that lucky to have such a dear friend in their life for such a long time!
I hope you have a wonderful day!
